First opportunity for an SC woman
Pithapuram Rural, March 28 (Andhra Jyoti): Vakapalli Devi has been appointed as Chairperson of Pithapuram Agricultural Market Committee. After MLA, the post of constituency with protocol has been allotted to an SC woman for the first time and Devi got it. Born in Kovvur, Kakinada Rural Mandal, she is married to Vakapalli Surya Prakash, a native of Kandarada, Pithapuram Mandal. They studied till class 10. Surya Prakash-Devi couple were initially in Praja Rajyam. They have been in that party since the inception of Jana Sena. Surya Prakash had earlier conducted a padayatra demanding Pawan Kalyan as CM. Many Jana Sena leaders congratulated Devi.
Devi appointed as Market Committee Chairperson Pithapuram, Newsday: Vakapalli Devi has been appointed as the Chairperson of the prominent Agricultural Market Committee (AMC) in Pithapuram town. The coalition government issued orders to this effect on Friday. As part of the reservation process, this position was reserved for an SC woman, and Devi, wife of Jana Sena leader Vakapalli Suryaprakash from Kandarada village in Pithapuram mandal, got the opportunity. Suryaprakash has been in politics since the inception of the Praja Rajyam Party. Devi studied till class 10. This is the first time in the political history of Pithapuram that the AMC post has been allotted to an SC community. Although many in the party have tried for the post of Chairperson, representatives of those communities are expressing happiness over the opportunity given to an SC woman at the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Jana Sena leaders congratulated Devi on being announced as the AMC President.
